A personal umbrella policy extends the liability a person has available to protect his or her financial assets in the event of a lawsuit resulting from a liablilty claim.

 

Basic Features
Higher Limit: Takes over where primary liability coverage ends, providing coverage beyond the limits of primary policies.

Extra Coverage : Provides the following (not included in primary policies).

  • World-wide liability coverage
  • Coverage for perosnal injury suits resulting from libel, slander, false arrest, invasion of privacy, or wrongful eviction.
  • Liability assumed by the insured under a written, oral, or implied contract or agreement.
Defense Coverage: Provided if not already provided in primary policy. Will be provided even if lawsuit is groundless.
Personal Injury: Protection against hazards not usually covered by primary liability coverage, such as shock, mental anguish, false arrest, wrongful entry or eviction, libel, slander, character defamtion, invasion of privacy, and others.
Negligent Damage: Includes property rented to, used by, or in your care.

Multiple Policy Discount: Discount applied to umbrella premium when both homeowner and personal auto policies are written under the same carrier.
