Our theatre insurance program was created by Daniel Castle in 1990 to provide insurance specifically tailored to the needs of community theatres in Michigan. It has since expanded to all 50 states. Our theatre insurance program allows your theatre group to design their own insurance portfolio by selecting from any combination of the following types of insurance coverage . Articles that explain in further detail about some of the topics listed below are available elsewhere on this website.
PROPERTY/GENERAL LIABILITY
Often called a package policy, this should be your starting point. This policy will provide your general liability insurance. If you choose, it could also provide liquor liability and automobile liability and/or lessors risk. It will also provide just about any kind of property insurance you may need for your building; coverage of theatrical properties such as lights, sets, costumes; box office theft, systems breakdown, loss of income, personal property, employee dishonesty, etc.
UMBRELLA LIABILITY
The package policy summarized above provides your General Liability coverage. Simply ask for additional coverage available through an Umbrella policy if your group needs more coverage that is both deeper and broader. Available in $1,000,000. increments.
VOLUNTEER ACCIDENT MEDICAL
This inexpensive insurance covers accidental injury to unpaid members/volunteers of your organization. This inexpensive, optional coverage allows you to pay simple medical expenses for volunteer injuries without such claims becoming part of your group's loss record. Cannot be used to cover anyone who gets paid; salary, stipend, honorarium. etc.
Not a monoline option. Can only be purchased in addition to a package policy.
DIRECTORS & OFFICERS LIABILITY
